About Hastinapura Yoga Foundation
We're clear on our goals and mapped out how we can take inspired action towards them.
Hastinapura Yoga Foundation (HYF) is a non-profit, educational, cultural and humanitarian organization founded in 2023 by author & journalist Yudhistira G S. The primary base of operations for the institution is located in Kunigali, which is near Malladihalli in the Chitradurga district. This village is situated in the state of Karnataka, India.
Malladihalli served as the foundation for Raghavendra Swami, a globally acclaimed spiritual leader, to transmit his teachings on yoga.
Apart from the intent of helping underprivileged people by uplifting their condition through yoga education, Yudhistira founded HYF also with a vision to impart the secret corners of yoga taught by Sri Raghavendra Swamy of Malladihalli to the entire world.
Connecting the dots in your life is great if there are already dots on the paper, but don’t forget that you can’t connect dots that aren’t drawn yet. Wow– what does that mean? Read below
Who is the founder?
Yudhistira G.S. (born 29 November 1989) is an award-winning Indian multilingual author and mystic whose works blend storytelling, philosophy, and spirituality. For over 20 years, he has been shaping narratives with skill and creativity. Earlier in his career, Yudhistira was a journalist with a sharp instinct for uncovering truth and served as Editor-in-Chief in both print and digital media. Between 2007 and 2020, he published twelve books, primarily in an Indian language, gaining a loyal readership drawn to his distinctive voice. Yudhistira’s writings display a rare expressive flair that transforms even the simplest ideas into vivid portrayals. His literary excellence brought him the prestigious Karnataka State Award, especially for his landmark 2013 novel Sthiti, a daring exploration of altered states of consciousness.
In December 2025, he began a new chapter as an English-language author, marking the worldwide publication of his first work. Yudhistira’s English-language journey began with Heart of Eckhart – Volume 1 (2025), a collection of spontaneous contemplative reflections. It was followed by Still Hits, Volume 1 (2026), which deepens the dialogue between timeless literature and the experience of living, and Meditation Meets Love (2026), where his voice turns further inward, exploring themes of inner sovereignty, trust, ego dissolution, and authentic living. All three works were released under Songbird Studio, the publishing imprint of the Hastinapura Yoga Foundation, reaching an evolving global readership.
Yudhistira graduated in English Literature, Journalism, and Linguistics from Kuvempu University, an institution named in honor of Kuvempu—the eminent twentieth-century poet, novelist, and educator who helped transform modern Indian literature.
Much of Yudhistira’s education unfolded not in large metropolitan centers but in the rural landscapes surrounding his hometown. These formative years brought him into close contact with the unvarnished realities of everyday life. He witnessed firsthand the struggles of communities burdened by poverty, illiteracy, caste discrimination, child labor, entrenched corruption, gender inequality, dowry practices, farmer distress, and the lingering grip of superstition. Living amid these social contradictions exposed him to the raw textures of human existence— encounters that would later deepen his sensitivity to society and shape the contemplative spirit of his work.
Reflecting on his journey, Yudhistira shares:
“I am a student of literature—and I’ve come to see that literature and spirituality are kindred spirits. They mirror each other in so many ways. Literature became the path that gently led me inward, helping me evolve into a more spiritual being. At the same time, my spiritual inclinations deepened my love for the written word and shaped me as a writer. It’s been a beautiful, mutual exchange—each enriching the other, nurturing the qualities I hold today. I believe the seeds of both were sown in my soul from the very beginning.”
But Yudhistira is more than just a writer; he is a yogi who moves with a timeless grace. Yudhistira founded the Hastinapura Yoga Foundation, a non-profit organization, in 2023 with a vision to expand the scope and scale of human consciousness. Through this platform, Yudhistira illuminates for the broader community the possibilities of spiritual experience and the immense potential hidden within the human mind. Engaging with his content offers a fascinating entry into the deepest ways of knowing, inviting seekers to explore new dimensions of awareness and step into a whole new realm of understanding. He leads aspirants into the mysteries of existence, revealing golden nuggets along the way. Central to his philosophy is our deep-rooted link to the universe—a creative force that is always sending us signals, as long as we remain open and receptive.
Story behind the foundation!
Let us consider the narrative through the lens of the founder’s personal experience.
“I am grateful for your presence. I understand the struggles you may be facing, as I have walked in your shoes. I tried various methods to ease my anxiety, but they only provided temporary relief, leaving me to manage it day by day, week by week, month by month.
My generalized anxiety disorder eventually transformed into panic disorder and then into health anxiety. It was a challenging and at times, seemingly hopeless period in my life that felt never-ending.
But then, I devised a plan to change my negative thought patterns, reframe my childhood traumas, and guide myself towards true inner peace. And it worked for me, and it can work for you too!
Anxiety is now snowballing in the entire world. The expansion of media multitasking and high levels of academic and economic stress have led to increasing rates of anxiety and depression among young adults. Throughout history, yoga has been used by many as a tool to eliminate anxiety and achieve balance in mind and body. Regular yoga practice reminds us that we are spiritual beings having a human experience. It is more than just physical postures and breathing exercises; it is a way of life, a holistic process. This realization is the key to living a life free of anxiety.
Motivated by my personal journey, I established the Hastinapura Yoga Foundation to serve humanity through the powerful practice of yoga.”
Moral: Be intentional about how you connect your dots. Sometimes dots present themselves, but you’ve usually got to take action
There is something that you are not aware of!
Global psychiatric institutions are failing to effectively tackle the mental health issues plaguing individuals. As a substitute for pharmaceutical interventions, yoga has risen as a viable option for addressing these concerns. The Hastinapura Yoga Foundation (HYF) is committed to combatting the dishonest practices of the pharmaceutical industry and promoting natural methods of healing.
